About Me
JiWoong Jang (장지웅)
(I usually go by Joon)
I'm a fourth-year Ph.D. student at the Human Computer Interaction Institute, at Carnegie Mellon University's School of Computer Science. I'm advised by Patrick Carrington and Andrew Begel and currently am a member of AXLE Lab and VariAbility Lab.
I conduct research at the intersection of accessibility (A11y), disability studies, AI (vision & NLP) applications, and IxD for computer and robotic systems.
Outside of research, I am passionate about issues of equitable access for persons with disabilities, particularly with education. If you identify as a person with a disability and are thinking about issues of academic access or starting research, please reach out!
In my off time, I freelance as a creative director/producer and play a mix of drums and piano.
If you have any questions, please reach me using the various links around the page/site. (If you notice that this website is inaccessible, please do ping! TIA)
